Before I proceed with posting the featured artwork for this journal, I want to talk about something that's been bothering me for quite some time.
I usually browse the "What's New" section of deviantART and when it was first introduced, I thought of it as a good idea. It was a welcomed change from the plain "Browse" section, especially because it featured (and still does... mostly) art from some of my favorite artists. There was a time when I discovered new and inspiring pieces that determined me to practice more and more and try out new techniques and styles. And it's from there where I got most of the artwork I've been featuring so far. At some point, however, I don't know what happened but all of a sudden the inspiring art was replaced with... boobs and asses. And as much as I like to think of it as *gulp* art, there's simply too much skin showing, in a manner that is closer to pornography than art. And it's still right there in my face. Okay, I get it, they're "artistic nudes" and such and sure, there's the mature filter thingy which I can turn on if I'm not happy with what I see or I can simply leave deviatART. But I don't. want. to. I want to come here and see art, authentic, genuine art. I want to have difficulties in choosing which piece to feature this week and which artist to follow next, not in barely finding anything to feature at all. I know there are plenty of talented artists out there we haven't heart of. I also know there is a difference between pieces of art with mature content, artistic nudes and pictures of... private parts that simply don't belong here (they shouldn't belong anywhere on the Internet actually, they're called private for a reason).
I've kept away from deviantART for a while simply because the nudity level around here was starting to bother up to the point where it became offensive. I preferred to post my art on Facebook and Instagram instead but I do miss the feel of high quality art deviantART has been inspiring over the years. Sorry if this topic offended anyone, I just felt the need to talk about it.

And that concludes this round of features. It was hard choosing the artwork, there were so many and I didn't want this journal
to be too long.
Don't forget to follow all the artists and share their works.
